A Review of the Comp Plan by Citizens

On August 8, the Daily Camera published a guest opinion by two Louisville citizens that analyzed the Comp Plan. The opinion piece demonstrated that the Comp Plan is fundamentally flawed in two ways: it allows unlimited population growth in Louisville and, rather than reflecting the community's vision for the city, the Comp Plan invites developers to give us their vision and to plan our city for us.

The views expressed in the guest opinion were shared by the vast majority of citizens who testified before the City Council or wrote to the Council: they wanted to preserve Louisville's small-town character and quality of life, and they opposed massive housing and population growth. The emails the Council received before the August 16 Council meeting are typical.
